In another first for Donegal, PonteMed Clinic has officially opened its Salt Caves. The facility provides an environment where a natural non invasive therapy can relieve the symptoms of respiratory and skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. The Salt Caves, whilst treating adults, also provides a specialist facility for children who travel from Sligo, Derry and as far away as Leitrim to avail of this centuries old salt therapy treatment.
Its children’s room is specifically designed for infants and children up to the age of 10. In Ireland 20% of children suffer from asthma. At its official national launch this month, Amanda Torrens cofounder of PonteMed Ireland with Dr Remo Schneider said she was delighted to be in a position
to bring the ground breaking treatment to Ireland, she added having seen it in operation in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where it has become a permanent part of treatment, she was convinced tens of thousands of sufferers in Ireland would benefit.
Salt Caves Ireland has identified PonteMed Clinic as its Launchpad for its first Salt Therapy Caves and intends to rapidly expand its operation nationally.
