Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils that affects millions of individuals each year. Although uncomfortable and unpleasant, the condition is rarely a major health concern.

Causes of Tonsillitis

Because the tonsils are the first line of defense against invaders from the outside world, they are susceptible to infection themselves.

Tonsillitis is typically viral, but can sometimes be bacterial. If it is due to a bacterium belonging to the group A streptococcus, the condition is referred to as strep throat.

Whether viral or bacterial, tonsillitis can be contagious and spread from person to person. However, if the condition is caused by a secondary illness, such as sinusitis or hay fever, it is unlikely to be infectious.

How our Salt Caves can help your Tonsillitis

The salt particles reach inwards and draw out the fluid accelerating the pace of mucus clearance. It will reduce edema of the nasal mucosa, causing nasal blockage which in turn leads to widening of the airway passage in the nose and throat. Salt Halo Therapy also reduces infection by killing bacteria. Your dependence on prescription drugs will diminish. It will also bolster up your immune system. A complete treatment regimen of 5-15 sessions will provide benefits for as long as 6-12 months.
